Throughout the Winter 2001, STAR'S END will be presenting music from the latest release by electronic music's most prolific and influential talent, Klaus Schulze.
Contemporary Works Volume 1 is an epic ten CD set which features Schulze's most current compositions and realizations. The ten volumes cover so much musical terrain as to make it impossible to adequately describe the contents in this brief review. Suffice it to say that within Contemporary Works the listener will find the interesting techno rhythms, classical harmonics and tribal timbres that Schulze has been recently exploring (Vanity of Sounds, The Crime of Suspense, USO Privee), collaborations with cellist and old friend Wolfgang von Tiepold (Ballet 1-4), new inspiration and input from modern musical co-conspirator Solar Moon (Docking) and Schulze's alter ego Richard Wahnfried (Trance 4 Motion) and an apt conclusion with a disc devoted to stray yet worthwhile pieces (Adds & Edits).
