Through his music, Christopher Bissonnette attempts to produce a steady state. On In Between Words (50'46") he realizes this idea. The six tracks on his second CD each form a unique sonic condition. With trembling drones and humming ambiance this work generates moods ranging from relaxed tension and grey melancholy, to blessed rest and disburdenment. Although clearly within the realm of Ambient Music, Bissonnette's artistic vision elevates each composition to a level of distinction and originality. The sounds of piano, orchestral strings, guitar, the environment and synthesizer, are heard throughout this release - however delicately filtered, distorted and re-imagined. Grown of digital, In Between Words extends our interior space. After spending nearly an hour under this album's spell, it will be difficult to return to the familiar atmosphere of daily life.
