The high altitude formations of Voyage Futur imply a subtle mind. The partnered pair of 2024 Mystery Circles releases Inverted Land (34:07) and Unseen Portal (47:12) emerge out of a period of remarkable creative expansion. Each its own satisfying synthesizer serenade of an album, this twosome has been realized by an Electronic Musician constantly searching - permanently embarked on a quest for distinctive textures and tones. In precise renderings of even the most ordinary of sounds Inverted Land wrests a calming coherence in the chaos of its circuitry. From this private realm comes the subtlest gestures of measured motion. The seven shimmering pieces send a dreamy, dramatic charge through the listener, and portend no shortage of possibilities. Elsewhere, the ten, often interconnected tracks of Unseen Portal take us into New Age atmospheres of yesteryear, on up to the tonality of tomorrow, then down to new brood moods and reflections. Riding atop light percussion, lulling chords congregate into yearning harmonies, and find a forlorn beauty in the spacey swirl of drifting notes. Brimming with ideas, it never tells us what to think. All secrets withheld, these beautifully crafted works conjure safe zones where we may breath easy with the music - and dream well in the still point of the turning world.
