With One Universal Breath (65:31) Veryan has created an album of twelve tracks - a dozen conditions, each offering a unique transient intimacy. Swirling in a circulation of synthetic sound it offers a spirited sense of discovery. Leading the listener on an absorbing journey through varying moods and scenes its roused rhythms allow harmonic relationships to extend over longer passages of time. From soft and smart, to electrical and synthetic, One Universal Breath conjures vivid thought zones where we encounter sighs of timbre and texture, propelling patterns and grooves, and something sonic swelling to a vast scale. Veryan's tempo talents are in perfect accord with her ability to invent the easy melodic motifs that wind out over luxurious synth chords - the questing beats helping us ponder some high-flown futurism as we dream and breathe with her music. Wandering through the receptive mind the tone and energy of this work varies in richly imagined departures. Motoring from moment to moment, toward a far off secret signal emanating from across space and time, One Universal Breath travels through a rare region of color and atmosphere - so we may encounter this considerable imagination as vibrations of the air.
