Wired to seek and share George Wallace is a musician who has never stopped trying to be a poet. Continually attempting to provide listeners with an inner world/inner home, his Timeless (63:21) strives for optimism throughout. Realizing an altogether elsewhere while sounding the depths of the mind it serves its purpose by adding substantial depth and a palpable atmosphere to the era it was designed to accompany. Breathing, questioning chords emerge and recede into a rich psychological interiority. Where shadow waits for light to give it form we hear skillful manipulations of texture and atmosphere moving within this work - then setting a cool, gorgeous slow fire to chase away the gloom. Further in, low slow synth swells ascend amid cinematic strings and a kind of luminous rumination. Basking in a golden hour consonance a cloudless calm suspends aural brushstrokes on the perfumed air. The new perspectives found on Timeless only intensify as we move through its seven tracks. Riding on rising rhythms of soft sampled percussion and electronic tones, some of them bring some measure of energy and intensity to our sonic journey. Imagined as a series of "conversations" among the instruments (flute, keyboard, guitar, etc.) this album brims with beautiful moments. The richness of the voyage Wallace takes us on is magical. It is completely of its time, yet timeless. Existing in a territory somewhere between New Age, Ambient and Spacemusic this music is meant to be more than merely a means of escape. Upon entering your heart, it can elevate your soul.
