Jeff Koepper | Jeff Koepper and Kelvin Russell are Pure Gamma and at one time performed regularly around their home-base of Baltimore, MD. They have played live at CloudWatch in Washington, DC, The Data-Data Arts Festival UMB, opened for Ben Neill on 28 September 1996 and headlined on 2 May 1997 at The Gatherings Concert Series in Philadelphia. Pure Gamma has released a four track 12" on Defective Records and contributed music to three anthology CDs: Electronic Music Project, Ambient Ceremonie and Defective Soundscapes. | |
Pure Gamma exists primarily through live performance, enjoying the spontaneity and immediacy of the concert atmosphere over the slow paced calculations of the studio. Their music is purely electronic and subtly moody, using Pure Gamma's original synthesized timbres and intricate polyrhythms. According to Koepper, "Our music brings together the old school ambience of the '70s with the techno/chillout culture of the '90s." |
