| Hans-Joachim Roedelius, active in music for over thirty years, has a discography of more than 80 releases. He is a pioneer in electronic music, not least for his collaborations with such prominent musicians/composers/producers as Holger Czukay, Dieter Moebius, Michael Rother, Conny Plank, Peter Baumann and Brian Eno. He has worked as a soloist and founded several groups, most notably Kluster/Cluster and Harmonia. |
Over his prolific career, Roedelius' musical output has covered a great deal of sonic territory and emotional range: from deeply introspective to rhythmically dancey, from experimental improvisations to heart felt vignettes, Roedelius is a musician of depth and breadth. His influence on the genre of electronic music will be felt for many years. His Gathering concert is part of this summer's brief tour of select North American cities. |
Tim Story's work has come to be known for its haunting elegance and meticulous compositional detail. When writing and recording, he often spends months carefully working and refining the shape of each composition until he achieves the desired emotional and intellectual effect. His seemingly simple pieces distill harmonic and melodic ideas that are often quite complex. Story's intensely personal style as a pianist, synthesist and composer developed from years of experimentation in his home studio, and a love of composition. The careful juxtaposition of acoustic instruments with electronic textures, and an inventive approach to composition are common threads running through most of Story's work. |
